Laminar Research releases X-Plane 12.10 beta with a new FMS featuring better RNAV and RNP capabilities, plus refined flight dynamics. The update also includes a new default aircraft and enhanced scenery.

Laminar Research has opened the beta for X-Plane 12.10, a major update that brings significant improvements to the simulator's navigation and flight physics. The new FMS now supports advanced RNAV and RNP procedures, including RF legs and radius-to-fix turns, which are critical for flying modern PBN approaches. This enhances the realism for users of add-on aircraft like the ToLiss A320neo and FlightFactor 757, as they can now fully utilize their avionics.

Flight model revisions focus on ground effect and high-alpha behavior, with more accurate drag coefficients across various airframes. The update also introduces a new default aircraft: the Cessna Citation X, complete with a detailed glass cockpit and functioning FADEC. This addition provides a high-fidelity business jet experience out of the box.

Scenery enthusiasts will appreciate the enhanced autogen placement algorithms and improved coastline rendering. Laminar Research has also addressed several Vulkan rendering bugs that affected shadows on some GPUs. The beta is available now for all X-Plane 12 users, and we encourage advanced simmers to test it and provide feedback on the official forums.
