Winctrl (formerly Winwing) announces a corporate rebranding and introduces the Orion 2 Advanced base with new F-16EX Viper grips featuring upgraded Hall-effect sensors and a redesigned THTCM.

Winctrl, the company formerly known as Winwing, has officially rebranded as part of a strategic move to streamline its product identity. Alongside the name change, the company unveiled the Orion 2 Advanced base, an evolution of its popular Orion 2 platform, now equipped with enhanced Hall-effect sensors that promise even greater precision and longevity.

The headline addition is the new F-16EX Viper grip, designed to replicate the ergonomics and button layout of the real aircraft's sidestick. The grip includes a fully functional THTCM (throttle control module) with adjustable friction, magnetic brake, and a four-way hat switch that supports intuitive trim and TDC control. Early hands-on reports highlight the smooth action and solid construction, with all buttons and switches feeling tactile and responsive.

For DCS World and BMS pilots, this grip is a game-changer. The Viper's dual-stage trigger, weapon release button, and paddle switch are all faithfully reproduced, making it easier than ever to manage air-to-air and air-to-ground ordnance without breaking visual contact. The Orion 2 Advanced base retains compatibility with existing Winctrl grips and mounts, so current owners can upgrade incrementally.

Pricing has been set at $299 for the base and $149 for the grip, with pre-orders opening today. Winctrl also confirmed that a version compatible with the upcoming MSFS 2024 will be available at launch, leveraging the sim's new input latency improvements to further enhance the feel of the controls.
