Winctrl (formerly Winwing) has announced a new Airbus A350-inspired FCU and MCDU hardware set, featuring realistic backlit buttons and dual rotary encoders. The units are designed for seamless integration with MSFS 2024 and X-Plane 12, targeting long-haul enthusiasts.

Winctrl, the rebranded hardware manufacturer previously known as Winwing, has pulled back the curtain on its latest high-fidelity cockpit interface: a combined FCU and MCDU unit styled after the Airbus A350. The announcement, made via the company's official Discord and later confirmed on its website, positions the product as a direct response to the growing demand for modern Airbus long-haul hardware. The FCU replicates the A350's unique layout, including the integrated EFIS and autopilot control panels, while the MCDU features a full alphanumeric keypad, scratchpad, and line-select keys with tactile feedback.

According to Winctrl, the hardware uses dual rotary encoders with adjustable detents, allowing simmers to fine-tune heading, altitude, and speed selections with the same precision as the real aircraft. The unit connects via USB-C and includes native support for MSFS 2024 and X-Plane 12 through a custom driver that maps directly to the simulator's FMS and autopilot logic. For advanced users, a SimConnect and XPLM API is provided for custom assignments, enabling integration with third-party aircraft like the iniBuilds A350 or FlightFactor A350.

The FCU/MCDU combo is expected to ship in Q1 2027, with pre-orders opening in late November 2026. Pricing has not been finalized, but Winctrl hinted at a sub-$700 price point for the bundle. The company also confirmed that existing Winwing customers will receive a loyalty discount. This move signals Winctrl's continued push into the high-end Airbus market, directly challenging established players like Skalarki and CockpitPhD.
