Winctrl (formerly Winwing) has announced a new line of Airbus A320 replica hardware, including a backlit FCU and a motorized throttle quadrant with autothrust feedback. The modules are designed to integrate with MSFS 2024 and X-Plane 12 via native drivers.
Winctrl, the hardware manufacturer formerly known as Winwing, has expanded its Airbus-centric lineup with two new products aimed squarely at cockpit builders: the A320 FCU (Flight Control Unit) and a motorized throttle quadrant. Both are scheduled for release in Q1 2027, with pre-orders opening next month. The FCU features a full set of backlit pushbuttons and rotary encoders for SPD, HDG, ALT, and V/S, along with a realistic LED display and a machined aluminum faceplate that mimics the real aircraft's panel texture. Connectivity is via USB-C, and Winctrl promises native support for MSFS 2024 and X-Plane 12 through its SimApp Pro software, which now includes direct integration with the Fenix A320 and ToLiss A320neo.
The throttle quadrant is the more ambitious product. It uses servo motors to provide autothrust feedback, meaning the levers physically move when the aircraft's autothrust system commands a thrust change. This is a significant step up from passive detent-based quadrants, and it addresses one of the most common immersion breakers in Airbus simulations. The quadrant also includes realistic detents for CL, FLX/MCT, and TOGA, along with a reverse thrust range and a fuel cutoff position. Winctrl claims the motors are quiet enough for home use and that the unit can be calibrated to match different aircraft types.
Pricing has not been finalized, but Winctrl indicates the FCU will be positioned below its Boeing 737 MCP and the throttle quadrant will be a premium product. For those building a fixed-base A320 simulator, these modules could finally provide a cohesive, motorized solution without resorting to custom DIY electronics. We'll reserve judgment until we can test the autothrust response and build quality firsthand.
