Winctrl has announced the Orion 2 Throttle and Skywalker Rudder Pedals, featuring hall-effect sensors, adjustable detents, and a metal construction. The Orion 2 includes swappable grips for the F/A-18 and F-16, targeting DCS and MSFS pilots.
Winctrl, the hardware manufacturer formerly known as Winwing, has unveiled two new products aimed at the serious flight simmer: the Orion 2 Throttle and the Skywalker Rudder Pedals. The Orion 2 builds on the success of the original Orion with a revised gimbal mechanism, hall-effect sensors for all axes, and a new detent system that can be configured for afterburner or idle/cutoff positions. The throttle includes swappable grips for the F/A-18 and F-16, catering to DCS World pilots, but the smooth axis and detents also make it suitable for airliner simulation in MSFS.
The Skywalker Rudder Pedals feature a metal chassis, adjustable spring tension, and a toe-brake axis with hall-effect sensing. The pedal geometry is adjustable for width and angle, accommodating a range of seating positions. Winctrl claims the pedals are designed to work with both desktop and cockpit configurations, and they include mounting holes for permanent installation.
Both products are compatible with Winctrl's SimApp Pro software, which allows for firmware updates, calibration, and profile management. The Orion 2 is priced at $299.95, while the Skywalker pedals are $199.95. Pre-orders are open now, with shipping expected in November. Winctrl will be exhibiting at FSExpo 2027 in Las Vegas, where attendees can get hands-on time with both products.
For those building a home cockpit, Winctrl continues to offer a compelling alternative to Thrustmaster and Honeycomb, with a focus on metal construction and modularity. The Orion 2's detent system is particularly noteworthy for its tool-less adjustment, a feature often missing in this price range.
