Winctrl has announced a new Boeing 737 MAX throttle quadrant that replicates the MAX's distinct reverse thrust levers and FADEC-controlled autothrottle. The unit features hall-effect sensors and an integrated trim wheel, targeting cockpit builders and serious airliner simmers.

Winctrl, formerly Winwing, has lifted the veil on its latest hardware release: a full-fidelity Boeing 737 MAX throttle quadrant. The unit is designed to replicate the MAX's unique reverse thrust levers, which differ from the NG's split handles, and includes a proprietary FADEC simulation that communicates with the PMDG 737-800/900 and iFly 737 MAX via custom drivers. The quadrant features hall-effect sensors for all lever axes, ensuring precise, drift-free input, and an integrated trim wheel with adjustable resistance.

Build quality is what we've come to expect from Winctrl: a CNC-machined aluminium base, tactile detents, and backlighting that can be synced with the simulator’s cockpit lighting. The unit also includes a TOGA button, AT disconnect switch, and a dedicated takeoff config test toggle. Winctrl has announced that the quadrant will ship with a software suite that allows mapping of the MAX's autothrottle logic, including the ability to simulate the MAX's thrust asymmetry protection.

The product is available for pre-order today, with an expected release in late October. Pricing starts at $399 for the standalone quadrant, with an optional add-on for the MAX-specific trim wheel and flap lever. This is clearly aimed at the serious home cockpit builder who wants to replicate the 737 MAX's nuanced controls. Winctrl's previous FCU and MCP panels have been praised for their accuracy, and this throttle quadrant looks set to continue that tradition. We'll be testing it against the real MAX procedures once we can get our hands on a unit.
