The rebranded hardware maker’s new A320 FCU features backlit buttons, a motorized throttle with autothrust feedback, and full compatibility with MSFS 2024, X-Plane 12, and Prepar3D. Pricing starts at $899.
Winctrl, the hardware brand formerly known as Winwing, has announced a new Airbus A320 Flight Control Unit (FCU) and companion throttle quadrant, targeting the high-fidelity home cockpit market. The FCU replicates the real unit’s layout with backlit pushbuttons, dual rotary encoders for altitude and heading, and a dedicated LCD display for speed and Mach. The throttle quadrant is the standout: it features motorized levers that move in response to autothrust commands, providing tactile feedback that simulates the A320’s auto-throttle system.
Connectivity is via USB-C with a powered hub recommended. Winctrl provides a single driver that supports MSFS 2024, X-Plane 12, and Prepar3D, with native profiles for the Fenix A320, FlyByWire A32NX, and ToLiss A320. The motorized throttle requires a 24V power supply (included) and offers adjustable resistance and detents for CLB, MCT, and TO/GA. The FCU also includes a built-in ambient light sensor that adjusts button brightness automatically.
Pre-orders open on October 1st, with shipping expected in late November. The FCU is priced at $899, while the throttle quadrant will retail for $1,299. A bundle is available for $2,099. Winctrl says the units are designed for desktop use but can be panel-mounted with optional brackets. For Airbus enthusiasts looking to elevate their sim, this is a compelling proposition—especially with the promised haptic feedback that bridges the gap between virtual and physical.
