Winctrl has unveiled the Orion 2 throttle quadrant, featuring force feedback technology and modular design. The unit is aimed at high-fidelity combat and airliner simulation.
Winctrl, the hardware manufacturer formerly known as Winwing, has announced the Orion 2 throttle quadrant, a significant evolution of its popular Orion base. The Orion 2 introduces force feedback on the throttle levers, providing realistic resistance and tactile feedback that simulates the feel of actual aircraft throttles, from the smooth travel of a Boeing 737 to the detents of a fighter jet's afterburner.
The unit features a modular design, allowing users to swap out throttle grips for different aircraft types, including the F/A-18, A-10C, and a forthcoming airliner grip with autothrottle disconnect and TO/GA buttons. The base includes a built-in control panel with gear, flap, and speed brake handles, plus programmable buttons and axes. Connectivity is via USB-C, and the Orion 2 is compatible with all major simulators, including DCS World, MSFS 2020/2024, and X-Plane 12.
Winctrl has also improved the internal mechanics, using metal gears and hall-effect sensors for longevity and precision. The Orion 2 is available for pre-order now, with shipping expected in December 2026. Pricing starts at $399.99 for the base unit, with grip bundles available.
