VATSIM has announced Transatlantic Crossing 2026, a 24-hour cross-simulator event open to MSFS 2024, X-Plane 12, and Prepar3D pilots. The event will feature dedicated ATC coverage and realistic NAT tracks.

VATSIM has unveiled plans for Transatlantic Crossing 2026, a 24-hour event scheduled for October 17-18 that will see pilots fly from North America to Europe and vice versa under realistic air traffic control. The event is open to all simulators, including MSFS 2024, X-Plane 12, and Prepar3D, and will feature dedicated ATC staffing at major hubs such as KJFK, EGLL, and LFPG.

Organizers have designed the event to use current North Atlantic Tracks (NAT), which will be published via Navigraph Charts and SimBrief. Pilots will be expected to file oceanic flight plans, handle position reports, and comply with SELCAL procedures. VATSIM's advanced ATC plugin will allow for realistic HF voice communications, adding to the immersion.

To ensure a smooth experience, VATSIM has partnered with the FlyByWire Simulations team to provide a custom A32NX variant with upgraded long-range navigation features, including RNP and GPS integration. X-Plane pilots can use the ToLiss A340-600 or FlightFactor 767, while MSFS users can fly the PMDG 777-300ER.

This is one of the largest community events of the year, and it promises to be a test of skill for virtual pilots. Whether you're a veteran of transatlantic crossings or a newcomer, the event offers a chance to fly with a busy network and realistic procedures. Sign-ups open on September 1 via the VATSIM events portal.
