VATSIM's annual Cross-the-Pond event returns with enhanced ATC coverage and updated routing standards aligned with PBN requirements.
VATSIM has announced its annual Cross-the-Pond event, scheduled for November 7, 2026. This year's event will feature unprecedented ATC coverage across the North Atlantic, including all major oceanic sectors and a dedicated team for controlling the new PBN routes. Participants can expect realistic NAT tracks and CPDLC simulation, thanks to a new plugin that integrates with popular controllers' clients.
VATSIM has also updated its routing standards to align with modern PBN (Performance-Based Navigation) requirements, encouraging pilots to file RNAV/RNP routes. This is a step forward in realism, matching real-world efficiency initiatives.
The event is open to all pilots and controllers, and pre-registration is required. For those new to VATSIM, there are dedicated mentorship sessions leading up to the event. Mark your calendars—this is the premier online flying event of the year.
