ToLiss has released a major update to its Airbus A340-600 for X-Plane 12, introducing a new FMS with VNAV improvements, an integrated Electronic Flight Bag, and enhanced aircraft systems modeling. The update is free for existing customers.
ToLiss Simulations has rolled out version 1.4 of its Airbus A340-600 for X-Plane 12, a substantial update that brings a host of new features and refinements. The headline addition is an upgraded FMS that now includes more accurate VNAV planning, with improved altitude constraints and step climb logic. The FMS also gains support for RNP AR approaches with RF legs, allowing for precise curved flight paths.
The new integrated Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) provides a comprehensive performance calculator, takeoff/landing data, and a loading manifest, all synchronized with the aircraft state. It also includes a real-time fuel planning tool that works with SimBrief integration, enabling pilots to generate flight plans and load them directly into the FMS. The EFB is rendered on a tablet-like interface that can be popped out or displayed on a second monitor.
Under the hood, ToLiss has overhauled the hydraulics and electrical systems to better align with real-world A340-600 behavior. The update also includes a reworked flight model, with more accurate drag coefficients and engine response curves for the Rolls-Royce Trent 556 powerplants. The cockpit texturing has been refreshed to higher resolution, and a few new camera positions have been added.
This update is available free of charge to all existing A340-600 owners via the ToLiss updater. It continues ToLiss's tradition of deep systems simulation, and with the new FMS and EFB, the A340-600 is now arguably the most feature-complete long-hauler on X-Plane 12. For virtual airlines flying Lufthansa or Swiss routes, this update is a must-have.
