ToLiss has released a major update for its Airbus A330-900neo, adding new engine options and refined VNAV logic, while FlightFactor has updated its 777-200ER with improved cockpit textures and system tweaks for X-Plane 12.
For X-Plane 12 simmers, long-haul flying has just gotten better. ToLiss has pushed out update 1.1 for its A330-900neo, which introduces the option to choose between Trent 7000 and PW7000 engines, each with unique performance and sound profiles. The aircraft's VNAV logic has been refined to provide smoother descent paths and more efficient cruise altitude management.
Meanwhile, FlightFactor has updated its 777-200ER to version 2.6, focusing on cockpit texture improvements and bug fixes. The update also enhances compatibility with X-Plane 12's weather system, particularly in icing conditions. Both aircraft remain staples for virtual long-haul operations on the Laminar Research platform.
These updates come amid a broader trend of developers polishing their X-Plane 12 offerings, which have seen increased attention as the platform matures. The ToLiss A339 Neo is praised for its accurate systems simulation, including the full FADEC and ECAM pages, while the FlightFactor 777 remains a favorite for its deep FMS and realistic flight dynamics.
Frequent flyers on VATSIM will appreciate the improved autopilot performance during coupled approaches and holds. With these updates, X-Plane 12 solidifies its position as a serious platform for airliner simulation.
