PMDG has launched version 3.0 of its 737-800 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, introducing a revamped flight management computer with improved LNAV/VNAV path tracking and a highly detailed EFIS simulation. The update also brings full compatibility with MSFS 2024's new atmospheric and avionics systems.

PMDG has released version 3.0 of its highly acclaimed Boeing 737-800 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, marking a significant upgrade for the venerable narrowbody. This update focuses on enhancing the core simulation of the flight management system, with particular attention to LNAV and VNAV performance. The new FMC now features improved leg sequencing, more accurate turn anticipation, and better adherence to RNP AR approach procedures, crucial for operators flying into challenging airports like Queenstown (NZQN) or Innsbruck (LOWI).

The EFIS simulation has also received a major overhaul, with all display modes now accurately replicating the real aircraft's symbology and refresh rates. PMDG has also integrated MSFS 2024's advanced weather API, allowing for more realistic wind shear and turbulence effects on the flight path. Additionally, the 737-800 v3.0 includes a new sound package recorded from actual aircraft, with distinct spool-up characteristics for the CFM56-7B engines.

Existing customers can upgrade for a nominal fee, while new users can purchase the aircraft directly from the PMDG website. The developer has also confirmed that work on the 737 MAX line is progressing, with an expected release in early 2027. For now, the 737-800 v3.0 sets a new benchmark for airliner simulation in MSFS 2024, offering unparalleled systems depth and flight dynamics.
