The highly anticipated widebody is entering beta, with PMDG promising a study-level simulation of the 777-200ER’s GE90 engines, fly-by-wire system, and updated Electronic Flight Bag. A release is targeted for Q4 2026.
PMDG has officially confirmed that its long-awaited Boeing 777-200ER for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has entered beta testing. In a development update posted to the PMDG forums, Robert Randazzo detailed the aircraft’s progress, highlighting the new flight deck textures and an overhauled Electronic Flight Bag (EFB). The 777-200ER will feature the GE90-94B engines with a custom FADEC simulation, accurate fuel burn, and performance data derived from real-world charts. The fly-by-wire system is also being modeled with increased fidelity, including C*U law and envelope protection.
The EFB, a centerpiece of the PMDG 777 line, has been rebuilt for MSFS 2024 with a new user interface, improved performance calculations, and integration with Navigraph charts. The aircraft will support full VNAV and LNAV capabilities, including RNP AR approaches, and will come with a comprehensive failure simulation. PMDG states that the beta team is currently flying the aircraft through a variety of routes to validate systems and autopilot behavior.
No release date has been set, but PMDG is targeting Q4 2026. Pricing has not been announced, though it is expected to be in line with previous widebody releases. The 777-200ER will be available for both MSFS 2024 and, eventually, MSFS 2020. For long-haul enthusiasts, this is the most significant airliner release on the horizon. PMDG’s commitment to study-level fidelity remains unmatched, and the 777-200ER looks set to raise the bar once again.
