PMDG has announced that its highly anticipated 777-300ER for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has entered beta testing. The aircraft boasts a fully functional Electronic Flight Bag with SimBrief integration, advanced fly-by-wire simulation, and accurate GE90 engine modeling.

PMDG has confirmed that its Boeing 777-300ER for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has entered the beta testing phase, with a release expected in the coming weeks. This long-awaited add-on promises to set a new standard for long-haul airliners in MSFS, featuring an incredibly detailed simulation of the 777's systems, including the fly-by-wire control laws, autopilot modes, and the complex fuel and hydraulic systems. The aircraft will also include a fully functional Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) with direct SimBrief integration, allowing pilots to import flight plans, performance data, and weather.

The 777-300ER is powered by GE90-115B engines, and PMDG has modeled them with unprecedented accuracy, including realistic spool-up times, EGT behavior, and the distinctive howl. The flight dynamics have been tuned using real-world data, and beta testers report that the aircraft feels heavy yet responsive, particularly during approach and flare. The 777's unique features, such as the FBW with C*U law and the auto-throttle with wake turbulence compensation, are all simulated.

In terms of visuals, the exterior model is highly detailed, with opening doors and cargo holds, and the interior includes a fully modeled cabin and cockpit with functioning circuit breakers. The EFB is a highlight, offering performance calculations, takeoff and landing data, and even a moving map. PMDG has also confirmed that the 777-300ER will be compatible with Navigraph charts, allowing pilots to view charts directly on the EFB.

Pricing has not been announced, but PMDG typically charges around $140 for its high-fidelity airliners. Given the level of detail, this is likely to be a must-have for long-haul enthusiasts. The beta is currently closed, but PMDG plans to share more previews in the coming days.
