PMDG has moved its 777-300ER for MSFS 2024 into beta testing, featuring a rebuilt EFB, refined VNAV path logic, and full compatibility with the new sim's CFD and ground handling models.
PMDG has confirmed that its highly anticipated Boeing 777-300ER for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has entered internal beta. The announcement, made via the developer's forums, indicates the team is now validating the aircraft against the new simulator's updated aerodynamics, ground friction, and lighting systems. The 777-300ER will be the first PMDG widebody built natively for MSFS 2024, rather than ported from the 2020 codebase.
Key upgrades include a rebuilt Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) with performance calculations for the GE90-115B, including assumed temperature derates and improved takeoff distance charts. PMDG also confirms a reworked VNAV descent path algorithm that better handles RNP AR approaches and complex STARs with speed constraints. The FMS now supports full ADS-B In traffic display via the sim's new traffic API.
Systems depth remains the hallmark: hydraulic system EICAS logic, FADEC-driven autothrottle behavior, and the 777's unique fly-by-wire with C*U law are all modeled. Beta testers are reportedly running the aircraft through long-haul sectors such as KLAX–YSSY to validate fuel burn and step-climb logic against real-world performance data.
No release date has been announced, but PMDG's Robert Randazzo indicated the team is targeting a release before the end of Q4 2026. Pricing is expected to mirror the 737 line, with a separate -200LR/F expansion to follow.
