PMDG has announced the 777-300ER expansion for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is now in beta, featuring detailed GE90-115B engine modeling and advanced EFIS automation. The expansion promises a faithful recreation of the type's unique flight deck and systems.
PMDG has officially announced that the highly anticipated 777-300ER expansion for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has entered beta testing. This expansion builds on the existing 777-200LR/F base package, introducing the stretched -300ER variant with its distinctive raked wingtips and the massive GE90-115B engines, which produce up to 115,000 lbf of thrust. Robert Randazzo confirmed that the team has modeled the GE90's FADEC logic and thrust asymmetry characteristics, which are critical for accurate asymmetric thrust handling during engine-out scenarios.
The expansion will feature a fully realized flight deck with modernized avionics, including the Honeywell EFIS with integrated EICAS, and updates to the FMS to support the 777-300ER's unique performance data. PMDG has also implemented improved wing flex and ground handling physics to match the aircraft's real-world behavior. Beta testers are currently evaluating the new VNAV descent profiles and LNAV lateral logic, ensuring compliance with PBN and RNP approaches.
Given the 777-300ER's popularity among virtual airlines, this expansion is expected to be a major draw for MSFS 2024 users. The release date is not yet confirmed, but PMDG typically runs a short beta period of four to six weeks. Pricing will be announced closer to release, with existing 777 customers receiving a discount. We recommend following PMDG's official forums for the latest beta progress reports.
