PMDG has begun rolling out its 737NG3 to MSFS 2024, bringing a rebuilt EFB, refined LNAV/VNAV tracking, and full WASM compatibility. The update targets the 737-800 and 737-900 with enhanced FADEC modeling and improved autoland fidelity.

PMDG has officially cleared its 737NG3 fleet for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, delivering a comprehensive compatibility and systems update that serious tubeliner pilots have been waiting for. The release covers the 737-800 and 737-900 variants, with the 737-700 following shortly. At the core of this update is a rebuilt Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) that now interfaces natively with MSFS 2024's upgraded flight plan and weather APIs, allowing for more accurate performance calculations based on real-time temperature, pressure altitude, and runway contamination data.

The most significant systems work is in the flight management computer. PMDG has reworked LNAV and VNAV logic to tighten track-keeping during RNAV SID/STAR legs, particularly on RF (radius-to-fix) segments where earlier builds exhibited minor overshoots. VNAV path tracking now responds more predictably to speed constraints and altitude restrictions, and the autothrottle's FADEC interface has been recalibrated to better mimic the CFM56-7B's spool-up characteristics during gusty approaches.

Autoland behavior has also been addressed. The team refined the flare law and rollout logic to reduce the tendency toward float in ground effect, a common complaint on MSFS 2020. Hydraulic system logic, including the standby system and PTU operation, has been validated against real-world schematics. PMDG notes that the 737NG3 now fully supports MSFS 2024's improved ground handling and CFD-based flight model, though the team retains its own proprietary flight dynamics for the 737.

Installation requires the PMDG Operations Center 3, and current owners can upgrade at no cost. The update is available now via the PMDG store and will propagate to the MSFS Marketplace following Microsoft's ingestion cycle. For pilots flying VATSIM or IVAO, the improved LNAV tracking alone justifies the download.
