PMDG has begun beta testing the 737NG Ultra for MSFS 2024, a major overhaul featuring a rebuilt VNAV path algorithm and RNP AR capability. The package includes the 737-600 through -900ER with new FADEC and hydraulic logic.
Precision Manuals Development Group (PMDG) has confirmed that its highly anticipated 737NG Ultra for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has entered internal beta. This is not a simple port; the Ultra designation signifies a comprehensive rewrite of core systems to leverage MSFS 2024's improved flight model and avionics architecture. The package will include the 737-600, -700, -800, -900, and -900ER, each with accurate engine variants and winglet options.
The headline feature is a completely rebuilt VNAV path algorithm that now supports full RNP AR (Required Navigation Performance Authorization Required) approaches, including radius-to-fix legs and RF leg handling. PMDG has also implemented a more detailed FADEC simulation with realistic thrust limits and derate options, plus updated hydraulic system logic that accounts for fluid viscosity and pump wear over time.
Beta testers report that the flight model benefits significantly from MSFS 2024's new CFD-driven aerodynamics, particularly in ground effect and crosswind landings. The EFIS and CDU have been updated with new font rendering and faster refresh rates. PMDG expects a public release in late November 2026, with pricing set at $139.99 for new customers and a $69.99 upgrade path for existing 737NG owners. The developer will host a detailed preview at FSExpo 2027 in Las Vegas.
