PMDG has pushed its 737NG series into final beta for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, introducing a reworked EFB Takeoff and Landing Performance Calculator. The update also addresses VNAV path smoothing and FADEC spool behavior.

PMDG has confirmed that its 737NG family—spanning the 737-600 through 737-900ER—has entered final beta for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. In a development update posted to the PMDG forums, Robert Randazzo detailed a substantial rework of the Electronic Flight Bag's Takeoff and Landing Performance Calculator. The revised module now accounts for assumed temperature derates, improved obstacle clearance logic, and more accurate runway condition data pulled from the sim's weather engine.

The beta also targets VNAV path smoothing during complex STARs, particularly RNAV (RNP) approaches into terrain-challenged fields like Innsbruck (LOWI) and Queenstown (NZQN). Testers report reduced vertical path deviation following speed constraints, though the team notes that FADEC spool-up timing on the CFM56 remains under observation. Hydraulic system logic and electric pump behavior have been revalidated against the real-world 737NG maintenance manual.

For MSFS 2024 users, the aircraft leverages the sim's updated CFD flight model and improved ground handling physics. PMDG emphasizes that the 737NG remains a separate product from the upcoming 737 MAX, which is still in development. The final beta build is expected to run for two to three weeks before release. Existing MSFS 2020 customers will receive a discounted upgrade path, though exact pricing has not been announced. Navigraph navdata integration remains fully supported.
