PMDG has announced that its 737NG series for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has entered beta testing, promising full VNAV and LNAV integration with the new simulator's enhanced avionics architecture. The update is expected to leverage MSFS 2024's improved flight model and systems depth.

PMDG has officially entered the beta phase for its highly anticipated 737NG series for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. In a post on their developer forum, PMDG's Robert Randazzo confirmed that the 737-800, 737-900, and 737-700 variants are now in the hands of a select group of beta testers. The team is focusing on integrating the aircraft's flight management computer (FMC) with MSFS 2024's updated avionics system, ensuring that VNAV and LNAV modes perform with the fidelity expected by serious simmers.

The 737NG for MSFS 2024 builds upon the existing MSFS 2020 version but takes advantage of the new simulator's improved flight dynamics and systems modeling. According to Randazzo, the beta testers are currently evaluating the aircraft's performance across a variety of routes, including complex SID/STAR procedures at airports like KDEN and EGLL. The team is also refining the autoflight system's response to turbulence and wind shear, which MSFS 2024 now simulates more realistically.

One of the key improvements is the integration with Navigraph's navdata, allowing for accurate PBN and RNP approaches. The beta team is also testing the aircraft's compatibility with third-party hardware like the Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant and Winctrl's FCU panels. PMDG expects a release in the coming months, with a detailed changelog to follow. For now, simmers can look forward to a study-level 737 that truly leverages the capabilities of MSFS 2024.
