PMDG's 737NG series for MSFS 2024 has entered beta testing, featuring an overhauled failure model, updated flight dynamics, and a new EFB with performance calculations. Release expected within weeks.

PMDG has announced that its 737NG family for MSFS 2024 has entered beta, marking a major milestone for the highly anticipated port. The update brings a host of new features, including a completely overhauled failure model that now simulates over 200 individual system failures, from hydraulic leaks to generator faults. These failures can be triggered randomly, based on maintenance intervals, or manually via the new instructor panel. The flight dynamics have also been refined to take advantage of MSFS 2024's improved CFD, resulting in more accurate ground handling and better stall behavior. The autopilot has been tuned to handle the new turbulence model more realistically, with reduced oscillation in gusty conditions.

The new EFB, which replaces the previous tablet interface, now includes a full performance calculator that takes into account runway condition, wind, and aircraft weight to compute V-speeds and assumed temperature. It also integrates with SimBrief for route uplink and can display Navigraph charts directly. The 3D model has been updated with new PBR textures and improved wing flex. PMDG states that the 737-800 will be the first variant released, followed by the 737-700 and 737-900. The BBJ variants will come later as a separate package.

Beta testers are currently evaluating systems depth, particularly the new failure modes and their interaction with the FMS. PMDG's Robert Randazzo noted on the forums that the team is aiming for a release in late October or early November, pending beta feedback. Pricing for existing owners of the MSFS 2020 version will be a $49.99 upgrade fee, while new customers will pay $74.99. The DC-6 and 777 are also in line for MSFS 2024 updates, but no timeline has been provided.
