Orbx has launched TrueEarth Great Britain South for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, featuring high-resolution aerial imagery, 5m mesh, and improved PBR texturing. The scenery covers the entire south of England and Wales, including London and major airports.
Orbx Simulation Systems has released TrueEarth Great Britain South for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, a comprehensive scenery package that covers the southern half of England and Wales. The package includes high-resolution aerial imagery at 60cm per pixel, a 5m mesh, and custom PBR textures for buildings and vegetation. It also features accurately placed landmarks, such as the London Eye, Tower Bridge, and Stonehenge.
The scenery is fully compatible with MSFS 2024's new rendering engine, offering improved performance and visual fidelity. Orbx has also included custom night lighting, which accurately represents the UK's street lighting and motorway network. The package covers major airports including London Heathrow (EGLL), Gatwick (EGKK), and Southampton (EGHI), though these are not detailed airport sceneries—they are represented with accurate ground textures and autogen.
"TrueEarth Great Britain South is the culmination of years of work," said Orbx CEO Anna Cicognani. "We've leveraged the latest technology to create the most realistic representation of the region ever seen in a flight simulator." The package is available now on the OrbxDirect store and the MSFS Marketplace, priced at $39.99. A Central and North version are planned for release in 2027.
