Orbx has delivered KSEA Seattle-Tacoma International for MSFS 2024, adding one of the busiest airports in the Pacific Northwest to the simulator. The scenery features a complete overhaul of the airport, including new photorealistic ground textures with baked ambient occlusion, 3D terminals with full interior modeling for the main concourse, and custom animated jetways that align correctly with a variety of aircraft types.
Dynamic lighting has been implemented throughout the airport, with HDR light sources on the apron and inside the terminals, creating a realistic atmosphere for night operations. The airport also includes accurate taxiway signage, markings, and lighting, all compliant with the latest FAA standards. A notable addition is the satellite-based vegetation blending, which seamlessly integrates the airport with the surrounding environment.
Performance has been a key focus, with LOD and texture streaming tuned to take advantage of MSFS 2024's improved loading. Orbx claims that the scenery maintains a solid 60 FPS on mid-range hardware with Ultra settings.
KSEA is available now on the Orbx Central store for $19.99. The package includes both the base airport and the surrounding Seattle area landmarks. This is a must-have for those who fly the PMDG 737 or Fenix A320 on the West Coast.
