Orbx has launched a detailed rendition of Edinburgh Airport (EGPH) for MSFS, featuring custom ground markings, dynamic lighting, and optimised performance. The scenery targets both airliner and GA operations, with a focus on authenticity.
Orbx has released its highly anticipated 'EGPH – Edinburgh Airport' for Microsoft Flight Simulator, bringing the Scottish capital's hub to the platform with a level of detail that matches their acclaimed UK airports. The scenery includes a fully custom terminal building with accurate glass facades, detailed jetways, and a realistic apron layout that reflects the airport's current configuration. Ground markings are carefully reproduced, including the complex taxiway signage and hold short lines that pilots navigate daily.
Dynamic lighting is implemented throughout, with accurate approach lights and runway edge lighting that enhance night operations. The airport also benefits from Orbx's optimisation techniques, ensuring smooth frame rates even on mid-range systems. The scenery includes a custom control tower with interior, and static aircraft are optional via the control panel. A notable feature is the accurate depiction of the airport's elevation and terrain, which is essential for the challenging ILS approach to Runway 24.
Orbx has also included a detailed rendition of the nearby Firth of Forth bridges, providing excellent visual references for VFR traffic. The product is available now for MSFS 2020 and MSFS 2024, with a discount for existing Orbx customers. This release strengthens Orbx's portfolio of UK airports, which already includes London Heathrow (EGLL) and Manchester (EGCC).
