Orbx has announced a full-fat rendition of Seattle-Tacoma International (KSEA), featuring custom ground markings, 1-meter aerial imagery, and dynamic lighting for MSFS 2024. The scenery promises to be a major upgrade for Pacific Northwest flying.
Orbx has unveiled its latest flagship airport project: a comprehensive rendition of Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (KSEA). Built for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, this add-on replaces the default airport with custom-designed terminals, accurate taxiway signage, and 1-meter resolution aerial imagery that captures the surrounding terrain. The team employed advanced PBR textures and dynamic lighting to enhance night operations, while the inclusion of detailed jetways and ground vehicles brings the airport to life.
The scenery features a full custom ground poly with sloped taxiways, and the airport's complex intersecting runways (16L/34R, 16C/34C, and 16R/34L) have been accurately modeled to reflect real-world operations. Orbx has also included a detailed cargo apron with the FedEx and UPS hubs, plus the signature control tower. Performance has been optimized using the new MSFS 2024 SDK, ensuring smooth frame rates even on mid-range hardware.
"We wanted to deliver a definitive KSEA experience," said Orbx's lead developer. "From the iconic 'Seattle' signage to the subtle weathering on the tarmac, every detail has been crafted with realism in mind." The airport is available now via Orbx Central, and existing Orbx customers can take advantage of a loyalty discount. With this release, Orbx continues to cement its reputation for high-quality, performance-friendly scenery that elevates the simulation experience.
