Orbx Simulation Systems has revealed TrueEarth Washington for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, promising 1-meter per pixel aerial imagery and hand-crafted landmarks. The package will cover the entire state, including Seattle-Tacoma International (KSEA) and the Cascade Range.
Orbx Simulation Systems has unveiled its latest region for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024: TrueEarth Washington. Following the success of TrueEarth series for X-Plane and MSFS 2020, this new package leverages the advanced rendering capabilities of MSFS 2024 to deliver unprecedented detail. The scenery utilizes 1-meter per pixel aerial imagery, color-corrected for seasonal variations, and includes custom autogen for urban areas and forests. Key landmarks such as the Space Needle, Mount Rainier, and the Grand Coulee Dam have been meticulously modeled.
The package covers the entire state of Washington, from the Pacific coast to the Idaho border, and includes enhanced mesh at 5-meter resolution. Orbx has also collaborated with local developers to accurately represent general aviation airports like Boeing Field (KBFI) and Paine Field (KPAE), with custom ground textures and static aircraft. For airliner pilots, Seattle-Tacoma International (KSEA) receives a detailed rendition with accurate terminal layouts and jetway models.
TrueEarth Washington is scheduled for release in Q1 2027, with a pre-release beta planned for December 2026. Pricing will be announced closer to launch, but Orbx has confirmed that existing owners of TrueEarth Washington for MSFS 2020 will receive a loyalty discount. The developer has also hinted at future TrueEarth regions for MSFS 2024, including Oregon and British Columbia.
