Orbx has announced TrueEarth Netherlands 3.0 for MSFS 2024, featuring updated orthoimagery, enhanced PBR textures, and significant performance improvements. The scenery pack is expected to be released in Q1 2027.
Orbx Simulation Systems has announced the upcoming release of TrueEarth Netherlands 3.0 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. This highly anticipated update promises to overhaul the entire country with fresh orthoimagery, more detailed buildings with enhanced PBR materials, and improved autogen placement. The team at Orbx has been working closely with Asobo to leverage the new rendering capabilities of MSFS 2024, including better use of the new LOD system and more efficient streaming.
One of the key improvements in version 3.0 is the significant reduction in stutters and load times, thanks to optimized texture compression and better use of the simulator's caching mechanisms. Orbx has also introduced a new 'Performance Mode' that allows users with lower-end systems to enjoy the scenery without sacrificing too much visual fidelity. The pack will cover the entire Netherlands, including all major airports such as Amsterdam Schiphol (EHAM), Rotterdam The Hague (EHRD), and Eindhoven (EHEH), with updated ground polygons and improved airport surroundings.
Orbx has not yet announced a specific release date, but they have stated that the product will be available early in 2027. Owners of the previous TrueEarth Netherlands for MSFS 2020 will be eligible for a discounted upgrade. The product will be sold through Orbx Direct and the in-sim marketplace.
This update is a testament to Orbx's commitment to providing high-quality regional packs that enhance the flying experience for VFR and IFR pilots alike. The Netherlands is a popular destination for GA flying, and the new version is expected to be a must-have for enthusiasts who appreciate the fine details of the Dutch landscape.
