Orbx is bringing its acclaimed TrueEarth series to MSFS 2024, starting with Great Britain South. The package will feature 5m mesh, custom autogen, and meticulously hand-placed landmarks, leveraging the new sim's improved rendering engine.
Orbx Simulation Systems has revealed that its popular TrueEarth Great Britain South scenery is in development for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024. This marks the first TrueEarth product for the new platform and promises to set a new benchmark for VFR flying in the region. The package will cover the entire south of England, including London, the South Downs, and the Cornish coast, with 5m resolution terrain mesh and updated aerial imagery.
According to Orbx, the scenery will utilize MSFS 2024's enhanced rendering capabilities to deliver more realistic vegetation, improved building footprints, and dynamic seasonal changes. Key landmarks such as Stonehenge, the Eden Project, and major stadiums will be hand-modeled. The team is also incorporating custom night lighting and improved water masking for coastal areas.
Orbx aims to release TrueEarth Great Britain South in Q1 2027, with a Central and North version to follow. Pricing and upgrade paths for existing MSFS 2020 owners will be announced closer to launch. This announcement underscores Orbx's commitment to the new platform and its continued dominance in large-scale scenery development.
