Orbx Simulation Systems has unveiled TrueEarth GB South for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, featuring 1-meter resolution aerial imagery and custom autogen. The scenery covers the entire South of England, including London and the Channel Islands.

Orbx Simulation Systems has revealed its upcoming TrueEarth GB South scenery for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, a highly anticipated addition to its TrueEarth series. The package will cover the southern portion of Great Britain, from Cornwall to Kent, including major cities like London, Bristol, and Southampton. The scenery utilizes 1-meter resolution aerial imagery, processed with Orbx's proprietary color correction and blending techniques to ensure seamless integration with MSFS 2024's default terrain.

In addition to the ground textures, TrueEarth GB South includes custom autogen for urban areas, accurately representing building footprints and heights. Landmark buildings such as the Shard, the London Eye, and Windsor Castle are modeled in high detail. The package also features custom water masking for rivers and lakes, and improved night lighting that mimics real-world light pollution patterns.

Orbx has stated that the scenery is optimized for performance, with LOD (Level of Detail) management to maintain smooth frame rates even in dense areas. It will be compatible with other Orbx products, including EGLC London City Airport and Southampton (EGHI). The release is scheduled for Q4 2026, with pre-orders opening soon. Pricing has not yet been announced.

For simmers who fly in the UK, TrueEarth GB South promises to be a transformative addition, offering unprecedented visual fidelity. It will compete directly with similar offerings from Aerosoft and Gaya Simulations, but Orbx's reputation for quality and performance optimization gives it a strong edge.
