Orbx has unveiled its latest TrueEarth region for MSFS 2024, covering Bristol (EGGD) and South Wales with 0.5m ortho imagery and custom autogen. The package promises to fix the long-standing mesh issues around the Severn Estuary and includes hand-placed landmarks like the Clifton Suspension Bridge.

Orbx continues its march across the UK with the announcement of 'Bristol & South Wales', a new TrueEarth region for MSFS 2024. The package covers a 35,000 km² area from the Cotswolds to the Brecon Beacons, featuring 0.5m/px orthoimagery and 3D custom autogen that matches the region's distinct stone cottages and terraced housing. It's the first Orbx region to fully leverage MSFS 2024's improved elevation data, promising to eliminate the notorious terrain spikes around the Severn Estuary that have plagued default scenery.

Key airports included are EGGD (Bristol), EGFF (Cardiff), and EGDG (St Athan), each with up-to-date apron markings and terminal buildings. The package also includes hand-modeled landmarks such as the Clifton Suspension Bridge, the Principality Stadium, and the Severn Bridge, along with corrected taxiway layouts for the BAE Systems facility at Filton (EGTG).

Orbx says the region will be fully compatible with their openLC Europe landclass, and they've hinted at a companion 'Cardiff City' landmark pack for those who want more urban detail. Pricing is set at $49.99 AUD, with a 15% discount for existing TrueEarth UK owners. This is a must-have for UK flyers and a testament to Orbx's continued investment in MSFS 2024.
