Navigraph has integrated a real-time traffic overlay into its Charts app, allowing users to see VATSIM and IVAO traffic directly on approach plates and enroute charts.
Navigraph has rolled out a new feature for its Charts application that displays live traffic from VATSIM and IVAO directly on IFR enroute and terminal procedure charts. The overlay shows aircraft positions, callsigns, and altitude information, updated every few seconds, providing unprecedented situational awareness for online flyers. This integration is particularly useful during busy events, allowing pilots to visualize traffic flow and anticipate ATC instructions.
The feature is available to all Navigraph subscribers at no extra cost. Users can toggle the overlay on or off and filter traffic by network or altitude. The data is sourced directly from the networks' public APIs, ensuring accuracy. Navigraph has also ensured that the overlay respects chart clutter, allowing users to adjust transparency and label size.
In a statement, Navigraph emphasized its commitment to enhancing the online flying experience. The company is also working on integrating weather radar and turbulence data into the Charts app, with a beta expected later this year. This move further solidifies Navigraph's position as an essential tool for serious simmers, complementing its navdata and SimBrief flight planning services.
