Navigraph has released a significant update to its Charts application, introducing Performance-Based Navigation overlays and a new API for MSFS 2024 integration. Subscribers can also enjoy enhanced SimBrief integration.
Navigraph has rolled out a major update to its Charts application, bringing new features that will enhance flight planning and situational awareness for simmers. The update introduces PBN (Performance-Based Navigation) overlays on approach and departure charts, allowing pilots to visualize RNP AR tracks and authorization requirements directly on the chart. This is particularly useful for those flying advanced aircraft like the PMDG 777 or Fenix A320, which support RNP approaches.
The new version also includes a dedicated MSFS 2024 integration via a WebAPI, enabling developers to embed Navigraph charts into their add-ons. The first third-party integrations are expected from FlyByWire Simulations and Fenix Simulations, which will allow pilots to access charts directly from the EFB without needing to switch windows. Additionally, the update improves SimBrief integration, with automatic synchronization of flight plans and fuel data.
Navigraph has also redesigned the user interface, making it quicker to search for airports and procedures. The update is available now for all Navigraph Ultimate subscribers, and a new pricing tier offers a reduced-cost option for those who only need charts. "We're committed to keeping our products at the forefront of flight simulation technology," said a Navigraph spokesperson. "This update reflects feedback from our community and the evolving needs of virtual pilots." With this release, Navigraph continues to be an essential tool for serious simmers.
