Asobo Studio has released Sim Update 3 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, a major update that introduces a number of improvements aimed at enhancing the simulation experience. The headline feature is a new autopilot system that better replicates the behavior of real-world flight directors and autopilots, with more accurate VNAV and LNAV tracking. The update also brings a revised G3000 avionics suite, which now supports flight plan import from SimBrief and better integrates with Navigraph data.

A new default aircraft, the Cessna Citation X, is included in this update. The Citation X, known for being one of the fastest civil aircraft, has been modeled with high fidelity, including a detailed cockpit with the Honeywell Primus 1000 avionics. The flight model has been tuned to reflect the aircraft's high-speed performance characteristics, including Mach tuck effects at high altitudes.

The update also includes a new 'instant replay' feature that allows users to record and playback their flights from multiple camera angles, which is useful for analyzing approaches and creating content.

Sim Update 3 is available now for all MSFS 2024 users. As with previous updates, we recommend checking for add-on compatibility, as some third-party aircraft may require updates. PMDG, Fenix, and iniBuilds have all indicated that their products are compatible with this update.
