Asobo Studio has released World Update 4 for MSFS 2024, focusing on the UK and Ireland. The update adds over 100 new points of interest, enhanced elevation data, and a new set of landing challenges.
Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 has received its fourth World Update, this time enhancing the United Kingdom and Ireland. The update brings a significant upgrade to the region's terrain mesh, with improved elevation data that better captures the rugged Scottish highlands and the rolling hills of Ireland. Over 100 new points of interest have been added, including historic castles, iconic landmarks, and modern stadiums, all rendered with high-resolution textures.
Photogrammetry coverage has been extended to major cities such as London, Dublin, Edinburgh, and Cardiff, offering a more immersive experience for low-level VFR flying. In addition, the update includes a new set of landing challenges that test pilots in challenging conditions, such as landing at the short strip of Barra Airport (EGPR) on the beach, or navigating the approach into London City (EGLC) with its steep glidepath.
Asobo has also integrated community feedback from the UK, tightening the placement of buildings and road networks to reduce visual anomalies. The update is available free for all MSFS 2024 owners via the in-sim marketplace. The download size is approximately 8GB, and it requires a stable internet connection for streaming.
With its focus on a region beloved by GA enthusiasts, World Update 4 is a welcome addition that underscores Microsoft's commitment to global coverage.
