Asobo Studio's latest MSFS 2024 beta introduces the highly anticipated A320neo V2 with improved flight dynamics and a revamped World Hub for community content.
The latest MSFS 2024 beta (version 1.4.23.0) has landed, and it brings with it the long-awaited A320neo V2. This iteration of the default airliner features a redesigned FMS with more accurate VNAV and LNAV logic, refined fly-by-wire laws, and a deeper integration with the aircraft's FADEC. Early testers report a notably more stable approach behavior and better adherence to SID/STAR altitude constraints.
Alongside the A320neo, Asobo has rolled out substantial upgrades to the World Hub, now allowing users to submit photogrammetry corrections and custom POIs with a streamlined moderation pipeline. The update also includes performance optimizations for the DX12 renderer, particularly benefiting VR users who have long struggled with frame times in dense urban environments.
Community reaction has been cautiously optimistic. While the A320neo V2 still lacks the depth of payware offerings like the Fenix A320 or PMDG 737, it's a significant step up from the original, and its inclusion as a free update is welcome. The beta also hints at future features, including a long-requested weather radar overhaul, slated for the next development cycle.
As with any beta, expect turbulence. Asobo has acknowledged a known issue with the A320neo's autopilot capturing the glideslope late on some ILS approaches, and they're actively investigating. For now, dedicated simmers can download the beta through the Xbox Insider Hub or the launcher's beta channel.
