iniBuilds, known for its high-quality airliners for Microsoft Flight Simulator, has announced that it is developing the Airbus A350-900 for X-Plane 12. This marks the developer's first project for Laminar Research's platform and is highly anticipated by the X-Plane community. The A350-900 will feature an advanced FMS with support for complex SID/STAR procedures, RNP approaches, and a fully simulated fly-by-wire system with Airbus's characteristic protections.
The aircraft will also include detailed modeling of the Rolls-Royce Trent XWB engines, with accurate thrust and fuel consumption characteristics. The cockpit will be a glass cockpit paradise, with six large LCD displays and a head-up display (HUD). iniBuilds has stated that it is working closely with real-world A350 pilots to ensure system accuracy. The exterior model will feature high-resolution textures and animated components such as the landing gear and flaps.
While no release date has been announced, iniBuilds aims to enter beta testing in early 2027. This announcement is a significant win for X-Plane 12 users, who have long awaited a study-level A350. iniBuilds' reputation for quality suggests this will be a must-have add-on. The developer has also hinted at future X-Plane projects, indicating a long-term commitment to the platform. For now, simmers can look forward to more details in the coming months.
