FlyTampa has released Amsterdam Schiphol (EHAM) for MSFS 2024, featuring custom ground textures, accurate terminal interiors, and dynamic lighting. The scenery includes detailed taxiway signage and performance optimizations for complex airliners.

FlyTampa has released its highly anticipated Amsterdam Schiphol (EHAM) for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, and it immediately sets a new benchmark for European hub sceneries. The package covers the entire airport, including the new A-pier and the recently renovated Terminal 1. Ground textures are custom-drawn at 2cm/pixel, capturing the distinctive Schiphol paving, gate markings, and the labyrinth of taxiways that make EHAM a challenging airport to navigate.

Terminal interiors are modeled with an impressive level of detail, visible through the glass jetbridges and terminal windows. The famous Schiphol clock and the Rijksmuseum annex are represented, adding a sense of place. Dynamic lighting has been carefully tuned to match the airport's real-world lighting plan, with accurate approach lighting for runways 18R/36L (Polderbaan) and 06/24 (Kaagbaan). Taxiway signage is fully custom and includes the complex holding point layouts.

Performance is a key focus. FlyTampa has implemented LOD optimization and texture streaming that keeps VRAM usage reasonable, even with complex airliners like the Fenix A320 or PMDG 737. In our test flight from London Heathrow (EGLL) with the iniBuilds A300, frame rates remained smooth on approach to 18R, with no stutters during the flare. The scenery includes a configurator tool to disable static aircraft and adjust ground clutter for lower-end systems.

The add-on is available now from the FlyTampa store and will come to the MSFS Marketplace. Given the airport's importance as a hub for KLM and a favorite among VATSIM pilots, this release is a must-have for European airline simmers. It joins Orbx's TrueEarth Netherlands as a perfect companion for VFR exploration of the region.
