Fenix Simulations has released version 2.1 of its A320neo for MSFS 2024, introducing improved VNAV path prediction, customisable failures for hydraulics and flight controls, and better EFIS integration. The update is available now via the Fenix Installer.

Fenix Simulations has pushed out a substantial update for its A320neo in MSFS 2024, bringing the aircraft to version 2.1. The headline change is a reworked VNAV algorithm that now more accurately predicts vertical paths during descent, particularly when managing speed constraints on SIDs and STARs. This addresses a long-standing criticism from users who found the previous logic too aggressive in its descent planning.

Beyond VNAV, the update adds a new failure simulation system that allows pilots to introduce hydraulic leaks, engine malfunctions, and flight control anomalies via the Fenix app or through third-party tools like Volanta. These failures are modelled with realistic ECAM warnings and system responses, making the A320neo an even more capable platform for procedure training and airline-style scenarios.

Additionally, v2.1 improves the integration with the Fenix' EFIS, offering better rendering of weather radar returns and terrain mapping. The team has also fixed a number of bugs related to the aircraft's interaction with MSFS 2024's new atmospheric model, including a subtle pitch oscillation at high mach numbers. The update is free for all existing owners and can be retrieved through the Fenix Installer. Given the recent positive reception of the Fenix A320neo, this update further cements its position as one of the most sophisticated airliner simulations available. We'll be putting the new VNAV through its paces on a full flight from EGLL to LFPG later this week.
