Fenix Simulations has detailed the upcoming A320neo V2 update for MSFS 2024, featuring a custom FADEC model and redesigned VNAV logic. The update aims to eliminate the previous reliance on default MSFS autopilot modes.
Fenix Simulations has released a development update for the A320neo V2 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, showcasing significant improvements to the aircraft's flight management and engine control systems. The headline feature is a fully custom FADEC model, which replaces the default MSFS engine control logic. This allows for more accurate thrust response, including realistic spool-up times and fuel flow calculations across all N1 and N2 ranges. The custom FADEC also integrates with the aircraft's ECAM systems, providing accurate engine parameter monitoring and warnings.
In addition, Fenix has rewritten the VNAV logic to better handle complex SID/STAR constraints and continuous descent approaches. The new VNAV algorithm now supports true geometric and path-based descent profiles, reducing the need for manual intervention during approaches. The team has also improved the LNAV lateral tracking, with smoother turns and better adherence to RNP AR procedures. These changes are implemented via a new Flight Director and Autopilot system that operates independently from MSFS's default systems.
The A320neo V2 is scheduled for release later this year, with an open beta expected in the coming weeks. Fenix has confirmed that the update will be free for existing owners, and it will include the Pratt & Whitney PW1100G engine option alongside the CFM LEAP-1A. This update positions Fenix as a leader in systems depth for the A320neo platform.
