Fenix Simulations has released the Block 2 update for its A320ceo, featuring a highly detailed IAE V2500 engine model, improved electronic flight bag (EFB) functionality, and numerous system refinements. The update is now available for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
Fenix Simulations has rolled out the much-anticipated Block 2 update for its A320ceo add-on, delivering a suite of enhancements that further blur the line between simulation and reality. The headline feature is the introduction of a completely reworked IAE V2500 engine model, which includes accurate thrust ratings, fuel flow characteristics, and even the distinct buzz-saw sound on spool-up. The CFM56-5B engines have also received tuning to match real-world performance data more closely.
The Block 2 update also revamps the electronic flight bag (EFB), adding new performance calculation tools, including takeoff and landing distance assessments that account for runway condition and weather. The EFB now supports SimBrief integration out of the box, allowing pilots to import flight plans seamlessly. Additionally, the update addresses several issues reported by the community, such as intermittent autopilot disconnects during RNAV approaches and incorrect fuel predictions on long sectors.
Fenix has also improved the aircraft's compatibility with third-party hardware, including the Thrustmaster TCA sidestick and Winctrl's overhead panels. The flight model has been fine-tuned to better replicate the A320's handling characteristics, particularly in the flare and during single-engine operations. The Block 2 update is available now via the Fenix installer, and the team has hinted at future plans for an A321 expansion. For A320 enthusiasts, this update solidifies Fenix's position as the premier study-level A320 for MSFS.
