Fenix Simulations has released Block 2 for its A320 CEO family in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, marking a significant expansion of the already deep simulation. The headline addition is the IAE V2500 engine variant, complete with distinct FADEC logic, spool-up characteristics, and fuel burn profiles. This gives simmers the choice between CFM56 and V2500 powerplants, with corresponding differences in performance and sound.
Block 2 also introduces full RNP AR approach capability, including radius-to-fix (RF) leg support and accurate vertical path guidance down to LPV minima. The team has refined ELAC and SEC computer logic, improving flight control law transitions during turbulence and configuration changes. Hydraulic system behavior now more accurately reflects the real aircraft's prioritization during dual failures.
For cockpit builders, Fenix has added expanded hardware output support, including compatibility with Skalarki and CockpitPhD panels. The update is free for existing customers and is available now via the Fenix installer. Navigraph navdata is required for RNP AR procedures. The team is also working on the A321neo, expected in 2027.
