Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 receives Sim Update 3, introducing improved live weather interpolation, faster loading times, and stability fixes. The update also refines the new propeller aerodynamic model for general aviation aircraft.

Asobo Studio has released Sim Update 3 for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, a major step forward in the platform's evolution. The update focuses on addressing community feedback regarding live weather accuracy and performance, particularly on systems with high-end graphics cards. Users will notice a significant reduction in stutter during cloud layer transitions, thanks to a new interpolation algorithm that smooths weather cell movement.

Additionally, Sim Update 3 includes a revised propeller aerodynamic model first teased in the SU2 beta. This update promises more realistic torque and P-factor effects, especially noticeable in taildraggers like the J-3 Cub and the newly added Beechcraft Bonanza. Performance gains are also evident in dense urban environments, with improved LOD management reducing CPU load.

Asobo has also integrated several community-requested fixes, including corrected VNAV behavior in the Garmin G3000 and an overhaul of the ATC voice recognition engine. The update is available now through the in-sim marketplace and is required for all online services, including VATSIM and IVAO clients. For those who have been waiting for a more polished MSFS 2024 experience, this update is a must-have.
