Aerosoft Unveils Frankfurt V2 with Dynamic Lighting for MSFS

Aerosoft has announced Frankfurt Airport V2, a comprehensive overhaul of EDDF for MSFS featuring dynamic lighting, new terminal details, and updated ground markings. The scenery includes 4K textures and optimized performance using the latest SDK.

Aerosoft has lifted the veil on Frankfurt Airport V2, a ground-up rebuild of EDDF for Microsoft Flight Simulator. Promising a significant leap over the original release, the project taps into the latest MSFS SDK features to deliver dynamic lighting across the entire airfield, from the newly detailed Terminal 1 piers to the remote stands on the north side.

The development team has paid close attention to operational accuracy, updating taxiway centerlines, stop bars, and gate assignments to reflect the current real-world layout. Users can expect 4K PBR textures on runway surfaces and building facades, with a seasonal texture set that automatically adjusts to the simulator’s live weather. Performance has been a key focus, with LOD optimization ensuring smooth frame rates even with AI traffic enabled.

Frankfurt is a hub for Lufthansa and a popular destination for VATSIM and IVAO events, making this release a must-have for virtual airline pilots flying the PMDG 747-8 or the Fenix A320. Aerosoft has not yet confirmed a release date, but the project is said to be in the final testing phase. Pricing is expected to align with previous large-airport releases.
