A2A Simulations announced a new Piper PA-28 Cherokee series for MSFS 2024, powered by Accu-Sim 2.0. The first release will be the PA-28-180 with a carbureted O-360, complete with maintenance hangar and walk-around.

A2A Simulations has officially announced its next project for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024: a Piper PA-28 Cherokee series built on the latest iteration of its legendary Accu-Sim physics engine, Accu-Sim 2.0. The first variant to be released will be the PA-28-180, featuring a carbureted Lycoming O-360 producing 180 horsepower, mated to a fixed-pitch Sensenich propeller.

Accu-Sim 2.0 introduces real-time cylinder head and oil temperature modeling, which directly affects mixture leaning and engine wear. The Cherokee will also feature a full walk-around inspection, a functional maintenance hangar with parts replacement, and the ability to detect and correct issues like worn tires or fouled spark plugs. The external model is built from factory drawings, with accurate rivet patterns and panel lines.

A2A's new Cherokee will also incorporate a native MSFS 2024 weather radar integration and a custom EFIS option, but the classic six-pack panel remains standard. The team has been flying a real PA-28-180 to capture acoustic data for the engine and wind noise, ensuring that the audio is as authentic as the flight model. An early access beta is expected in Q1 2027, with pricing to be announced.

This announcement is significant for GA enthusiasts who have long awaited A2A's return to the PA-28 series, which was last represented in FSX/P3D with the Cherokee 180. The Accu-Sim 2.0 engine promises to elevate the simulation of a carbureted powerplant, including icing and heat management, which is a unique challenge not addressed in many add-ons. A2A's commitment to procedural maintenance adds a layer of depth that no other developer has yet replicated at this fidelity.
